2014 White House Conference

Nexus Delegation to the White House Conference on Next Generation Philanthropy
March 26th and 27th – 2014
Washington, DC

As a movement dedicated to increasing and improving philanthropy by bridging communities of wealth and social entrepreneurship, we were proud to support the White House to produce the 2014 White House Conference on Next Generation Philanthropy. President Obama has made it a priority for his administration to find new ways for the government to join with private individuals and organizations to solve national problems. Given the scale of the challenges we face, people are increasingly looking to youth as vehicles for change. According to The Greater Wealth Transfer report by Accenture, over $30 trillion dollars will transfer to younger generations before 2050. How can we transform the narrative surrounding wealth to help ensure that these resources, in new hands, move away from a sense of entitlement and towards a sense of opportunity? To find the answer, we discussed the leading issues of our time and how to address them, together, with the White House.
